Graduation

As of today, I’m done with college. I’m what you call a college graduate. I have graduated. Done. I was hoping for more fanfare.  It took long enough but I’m done…and I’m not a doctor….yet?…….Party to follow.

I’ll have a Dharma Graduation.

The Beginning

So I’ve been putting this off for a long time.  I’m finally setting this up.  Basically this will be some info, some musings, some reviews, likings and a whole LOT of mispellings and grammatical errors. 

Why “FREELOE?”  Well, that’s how my last name is pronounced.  Not “freelue” or “frillot,” like most people like to say it.  Just cause I live in New Orleans doesn’t mean I’m cajun or French(not that there’s anything wrong with that..its just not how you say my name).

Slack Adjustor
Slack Adjustor 2005- Vocalist/guitarist Scott Frilot and drummer Scott Thompson foundedSlack Adjustor in New Orleans in 2005. Frilot previously was the frontman for garage-punk outfits Electric Swamp Gas and Stereobabble. He was also a member of The Tomatoes. Thompson was the drummer for pop-punk band The Joneses and also played with The Tomatoes for a short period.After a hiatus from music for a couple of years, Frilot and Thompson started playing live shows together in early 2005 and dubbed themselves Slack Adjustor. They performed as a two-piece for a brief period, then recruited Neil Heusel of Southern Junction and Buckshot and the Barnstormers to play bass.The trio recently recorded their debut record Volume I at the famed Music Shed in New Orleans. The record was produced by Grammy-award winner Chris Finney.Volume I was released on November 27th, 2009.Slack Adjustor  
Basically, in 1990, Ted Torres, Scott Frilot and Lance Sherlock got together and started a band. That band was called ANTIX. They started out playing covers - KISS, Van Halen, AC/DC, etc.. They were fortunate to play at Jimmy’s Music Club(New Orleans) and good ol’ Friar Tucks( Canal & Carrollton - you know who you are) as well some other music venues.The 3 eventually recorded an EP called Antix vs Godzilla, with the help of Greg Troyer. It was released on cassette(remember those?).The band broke up in 1994.In 1998 the guys reformed to record some more songs, with the help of George Ortolano. “Slippery Days” was the product of those recordings.Now, each are working on their own projects. Ted is a writer; Lance has his own recording studio; and Scott has his own band, Slack Adjustor.Unfortunately, the name ‘antix’ is a very popular band name, so getting any sort of custom URL or specific website is out of the question.
